After a series of moves between naval bases, in 2002 my family moved from Puerto Rico to the foothills of East Tennessee. Much later, at nearby Carson-Newman University, I studied Poetry and Philosophy. I then completed my PhD in Philosophy at Florida State University. After three years as an assistant professor at Cal. State San Bernardino, I am now I am an assistant professor at my alma mater, Carson-Newman.
I teach courses on Value Theory, Action, and History of Philosophy. My research focuses on various topics and thinkers in these areas, particularly Aristotle and G.E.M. Anscombe.
When I’m not doing philosophy, I’m usually reading, cooking, or playing pickup soccer. My wife (Hannah), our daughter (Shiloh), and I live in Knoxville.
